GOSSIP GIRL

1. Episode 1.11, Roman Holiday

In Gossip Girl’s three seasons, this is the only Christmas episode we’ve been treated to and, thankfully, I look back on it pretty fondly. At the time I was a Serena-Dan shipper (and still am, for the most part) and they had a really sweet storyline this episode, which culminated in them sharing one incredible X-mas gift: their bodies! The episode also significantly advances the Rufus-Lily storyline that had been slowly building: we have Rufus realize his marriage with Allison can’t be saved and admit Lily’s been what’s missing from his life. Unfortunately, around the same time, Bart proposes to Lily. The third main storyline–Blair’s hope for the perfect Christmas is comically toyed with when her father comes to town along with his lover–I could take or leave.

1. Episode 2.12, Winter Wonderland

Okay, so this technically isn’t a holiday episode but I’m including it anyway. After all, isn’t “winter wonderland” just the PC-way of saying Christmastime? And, besides, this was a pretty amazing episode–and I never even come close to saying that about this show. But this ep had what I love most: unrequited love, love triangles and several drawn-out storylines coming to a climax, rewarding viewers for their patience. We have Teddy pining for Silver, Dixon’s feelings for Silver reawakened, Liam & Naomi reunited by a selfless Ivy, Naomi’s well-warranted apologies to Annie and a jaw-dropping confrontation between Annie and Jasper. No doubt about it: this was my gift this holiday season.

Weekly Poll

In last week’s Weekly Poll, a huge majority–nearly 70 percent–thought it was Chuck’s mother in the graveyard. While the votes were a little bit more spread out on the killing of Jasper’s uncle, most of you think Annie did it. The results were much closer on the question of Millie and Mouth’s relationship, where the winning answer (“Who cares? They are so boring!) came out on top by just 7 votes.

Weekly Poll

The last Weekly Poll was a while ago now, thanks to the week off that the shows had and then the week off that I had. In that set, a big chunk of you believed Lady Gaga’s appearance on Gossip Girl was a pointless ratings stunt and that Liam and Naomi belonged together. It was a lot closer on the question of where Quinn’s loyalties should lie. In the end, the belief that she should stay out of the Naley-Clay issue came out on top by just 10 votes.

Jasper on “90210” is awesome! Is he going to kill Annie when he finds out that she totally murdered his uncle? -P
Ha, no. Actually, he’s going to discover the truth sooner than later, but it seems his passionate, crazy love for Miss Wilson will keep him from ratting her out… that doesn’t mean she won’t get caught though. The writers aren’t going to leave her hit-and-run storyline hanging too much longer.

What are Liam and his friends going to do to get back at Naomi’s sister on “90210”?! If they do get back at her, do you think Liam will get back together with Naomi?! -shreya
Naomi’s sister Jen is going to get what’s coming her way. Finally. As for Liam and Naomi, listen up…

Krista in Lafayette Hill, Pa.: Is it true that the CW has decided to air the rest of the episodes of The Beautiful Life later this season? If for some miracle the ratings increased would they bring it back full time?
A representative for the CW tells us, “The status of unaired eps of The Beautiful Life is still to be determined.” My rock-solid source who knows about such things tells me: No truth whatsoever. Sorry, Mischa!

Drew in Walhalla, S.C.: I’m a freak for Chuck and Blair on Gossip Girl! Tell me they aren’t going to break up any time soon.
They aren’t. It’s actually Rufus and Lily’s relationship that will be in a very bad place until the end of the season. From what I understand, it all stems from a letter that Serena’s father is going to send her. And of course, it doesn’t help that Bart Bass is back in the mix!

Rebecca in Miami: How about some One Tree Hill scoop?
Skills is moving to Los Angeles. (Tear. You will be missed in Tree Hill!) Also, a new man may come between Brooke and Julian.

Randall in Ohio: How about some good stuff on 90210? I’ve been getting into it lately.
DVR alert: I’m hearing that episode 12 is going to be awesome. It all goes down at the Winter Wonderland dance, and an intervention takes place for Annie to get her to realize that Jasper is a bad guy. Hmmm, will she believe them? Also, Teddy has feelings for Silver and asks her out, but she rejects him. Wah-wah. Though we hear something will happen between the two later on.

We already saw Lily receive the letter from Serena’s father last week and the OTH stuff we already knew as well both from the episodes and spoilish info I posted.

What’s the big deal with this “Gossip Girl” threesome? Why is everyone making such a fuss? Can you say who the participating players are? -Michelle
I haven’t yet seen the episode, so I won’t offer my opinion on what goes down, but I will say that a little birdie told me Hilary Duff (aka Dan’s girlfriend Olivia) is definitely involved.

Didn’t you report that there’s still hope for Liam and Naomi on “90210” this season? Doesn’t it seem like the new surfer girl is going after him? -P
The new surf girl is absolutely making a play for Liam, but that doesn’t mean she’ll get what she wants. Actually, I know for a fact that Naomi will be the victor in this battle and be back with Liam before we know it… much to our new friend’s chagrin.

Actually, Naomi will reconcile with Annie as well, right around the same time.

I stopped by the set of “90210” to speak with Annalynne McCord on the subject…

I know that it makes me a terrible feminist and an even worse woman, but I prefer ‘90210’s’ sleazy Mark to creepy Jasper as Annie’s new beau. Will Mark be redeemed? And if so, is there any hope for a Mark/Annie romance? – Alexandra
I know, right? Why do some people say “sleazy” as if it’s a bad word? But you and I must be in the minority, as there are no plans at this time for Mark to resurface.

Now that Renee’s lies have been exposed on ‘One Tree Hill,’ will Naley fans get some overdue on-screen lovin’? – Kelli
When I spoke to James Lafferty I relayed the fans’ clamoring for some Nathan-Haley heat. He said that if Nathan was ultimately proven innocent, “I’m sure there’s plenty of that to look forward to. [Series creator] Mark [Schwahn] is pretty good about giving the fans what they want.” That said, he had to note, “This is The CW, not ‘True Blood,’ so they shouldn’t be expecting too much!”
