- Coverage of The CW upfront with interviews and/or commentary: Zap2it, Zap2it again, E!, TV Guide, Variety, MTV, The San Francisco Chronicle and TV By The Numbers. There will likely be more tomorrow. I decided not to post stories that were only regurgitations of the press release. Seemed like a waste of my time and yours.
- The Los Angeles Times confirmed my speculation that Trevor Donovan (Teddy, 90210) has been promoted to a series regular.
- Gossip Cop busted yesterday’s rumor about Michelle Williams (Jen, Dawson’s Creek) dating her Blue Valentine co-star Ryan Gosling.
- Joshua Jackson (Pacey, Dawson’s Creek) is interested in a Fringe-Vampire Diaries cross-over, which would re-team him with Kevin Williamson (creator, Dawson’s Creek) who is the EP on TVD.

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, 90210 and The O.C.
18 05 2010- In case you missed it earlier, The CW renewed One Tree Hill and Life Unexpected. They also picked up Nikita and Hellcats, and canceled Melrose Place.
- Broadcasting & Cable has a short but interesting piece looking at the state of The CW network.
- According to Star News, 13 episodes of One Tree Hill have been ordered. Haven’t seen that confirmed anywhere else.
- Last night’s One Tree Hill (2 million viewers) dropped slightly and Gossip Girl (2 million viewers rounded up) rose a bit in the ratings compared to last week.
- I have mixed thoughts on The TV Addict’s “open letter” to Mark Schwahn (creator, One Tree Hill). Most of it is irrelevant now, since OTH was renewed.
- Korbi has an article speculating on whether Clay (Robert Buckley, One Tree Hill) and Quinn (Shantel Van Santen, One Tree Hill) survive the finale’s shooting…which to my knowledge, they do. And it’s not a true spoiler. I mean, I’m pretty positive the actors have contracts for season 8…
- Now that season 8 is a go, Christy-Anne will be hosting another fan reunion, this time in the summer.
- Buckley shared some of his favorite scenes in an interview with MTV.
- TVGuide.com has a look at some of “One Tree Hill’s Craziest Moments.”
- Miami Medical, featuring Elisabeth Harnois (Shelly, One Tree Hill) was canceled.

- Gossip Cop busted a rumor about Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl) bumping Kristen Stewart from the June cover of Vogue.
- The Los Angeles Times has an awesome interview with Shenae Grimes (Annie, 90210), and they link to my Zachary Ray Sherman (Jasper) interview! Warning, though: both interviews have spoilers if you haven’t watched tonight’s ep yet.
- The CW Source has a very short video interview with Michael Steger (Navid, 90210). I didn’t watch it but it’s likely spoilish if you haven’t seen tonight’s ep.
- Gossip Cop has an article on the reconciliation between Tori Spelling (Donna, Beverly Hills 90210) and mom Candy Spelling.
- Emma Caulfield (Susan, Beverly Hills 90210) is getting divorced.
- Olivia Wilde (Alex, The O.C.) will be missing an unspecified number of House episodes next season so she can film Cowboys and Aliens.
- The Good Guys, starring Colin Hanks (Grady, The O.C.), premieres on FOX tomorrow night.

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, 90210, Gossip Girl and More
14 05 2010- Media Life has an interesting article on state of The CW, its success in the past year (including why Gossip Girl and 90210 are considered successful when their total live audience numbers suggest otherwise) and how it might approach the 2010-2011 season. The article also says there is speculation both One Tree Hill and Life Unexpected will return, which is the same speculation we heard yesterday. And let me put emphasis on the word “speculation.”
- Kristin also reports that OTH and LUX could get a 12 or 13 episode order but cautions “no final decisions have been made.”
- Gossip Cop and I busted a Hollywood Life story claiming Torrey DeVitto (Carrie, One Tree Hill) and Paul Wesley (Donnie, The O.C.) “got secretly married.” They haven’t.
- Generation Y, featuring Daniella Alonso (Anna, One Tree Hill), has been ordered as a series by ABC.
- NBC ordered three series with teen drama connections: Friends With Benefits, starring Danneel Harris (Rachel, One Tree Hill), Outlaw, previously called Justice and created by John Eisendrath (executive producer, Beverly Hills 90210), and Harry’s Law, previously called Kindreds and featuring Brittany Snow (Young Lily, Gossip Girl).

- Stroup has a new pixie haircut and spoke to PEOPLE.com about it.
- Gossip Cop busted rumors that Ed Westwick (Chuck, Gossip Girl) and Jessica Szohr (Vanessa, Gossip Girl) are back together. They are NOT…but anything is possible down the road.

- PEOPLE.com reports Michelle Williams (Jen, Dawson’s Creek) is in “active negotiations” to play Marilyn Monroe in a movie.

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, 90210, The O.C. and More
30 04 2010- SoapNet is making some significant schedule changes regarding its teen drama lineup. Beginning tomorrow, May 1, One Tree Hill will air for two additional hours on Saturdays, now going from 9am til 1pm. Beverly Hills 90210 has been pushed back to 1pm and will go til 5. Sunday remains unchanged. Then, as of Monday, May 3, The O.C. will only air at 1pm, losing its second hour. One Tree Hill will move an hour earlier, airing at 2pm and 3pm. Beverly Hills 90210 will keep the 11am and noon slots but will now also have 4pm, in addition to their current 5pm slot. That hour, which started airing the show from the beginning in November after the network took away the 6pm timeslot, will repeat the noon episode (and the 4pm slot will repeat the 11am episode). That means though we’re currently in season 4 during the 5pm hour, it will pick up with the middle of season 10, which is what’s currently airing in the morning. The individual show pages above have been updated to reflect these changes.
- The CW has announced who will be participating in their Tweet Week and when: Robert Buckley (Clay, One Tree Hill) will tweet Monday at 8pm eastern. Josh Schwartz (executive producer, Gossip Girl) and Zuzanna Szadkowski (Dorota, Gossip Girl) will tweet Monday at 9pm eastern. Shenae Grimes (Annie, 90210), Michael Steger (Navid, 90210), Tristan Wilds (Dixon, 90210) and Trevor Donovan (Teddy, 90210) will tweet Tuesday at 8pm eastern. All of this will take place at tweet.cwtv.com.

- TVGuide.com named Annie’s fountain scene in this week’s 90210 the “oddest reaction” in their list of Top Moments of the Week. I disagree.

15 04 2010- BuzzSugar has a photogallery called The History of One Tree Hill: Top 10 Highlights. Can’t say I agree with all their picks and at least one caption isn’t quite accurate but it was still fun to look at.

- PEOPLE.com is asking whether Chuck (Ed Westwick, Gossip Girl) and Blair (Leighton Meester, Gossip Girl) are meant to be together. The CW promo they have alongside it, essentially a movie-like trailer for the Chair love story, is chilling. Warning: there are snippets of upcoming scenes!

13 04 2010- Last night’s Gossip Girl (1.9 million viewers rounded up) climbed a bit in the ratings compared to last week.
- Korbi is asking via poll if Blair should have forgiven Chuck.
- Gossip Cop busted a Perez Hilton/In Touch story about Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl) hooking up with Twilight’s Robert Pattinson.
- The Daily News claims they have more details about the breakup between Ed Westwick (Chuck, Gossip Girl) and Jessica Szohr (Vanessa, Gossip Girl).
- You can enter a sweepstakes to win the dress Silver (Jessica Stroup, 90210) wore to the Winter Wonderland dance.
- Brian Austin Green (David, Beverly Hills 90210) will make his return to Smallville on Friday’s episode. Ausiello has an exclusive sneak peek of one of his scenes.
- Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill) has been cast in Southern Discomfort, an ABC pilot. This DOES NOT mean One Tree Hill is canceled or that Bush is abandoning ship. 1) OTH has not been canceled–or renewed. 2) If OTH is renewed, Bush is contractually obligated to do OTH. 3) She is simply preparing herself for what may be a reality. It’s a smart move.
- Also noteworthy in the short article about the casting is Deadline’s take that OTH has a 50-50 chance at renewal. They also “presume” that it’s OTH versus Life Unexpected, which stars Kerr Smith (Jack, Dawson’s Creek). The Hollywood Reporter says the shows “are considered to be” in competition.
- Joshua Jackson (Pacey, Dawson’s Creek) won a Genie Award for his acting work in the movie One Week. He reportedly mentioned DC in his acceptance speech. He looks adorable in the photo.

Breaking: Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr Have Broken Up
8 04 2010A report was published in today’s New York Post that Ed Westwick (Chuck, Gossip Girl) and Jessica Szohr (Vanessa, Gossip Girl) broke up.
The paper alleges Szohr cheated on him with one of his pals.
Through sources via work, I have confirmed that this is true.
Why is this worthy of a breaking news post on TDW?
Well, for starters, I just wrote about it on Gossip Cop. (Read it!)
Second, it’s been quite a while since we had a breakup completely within the teen drama world and this is the first of the three real-life Gossip Girl couples to split.
Third, I didn’t feel comfortable waiting until tonight’s News Roundup to share this information.
Lastly, many fans believe the divorce between Chad Michael Murray (Lucas, One Tree Hill) and Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill) after allegations that he cheated significantly impacted the storylines on One Tree Hill
While Westwick and Szohr’s characters on Gossip Girl aren’t dating, here’s hoping the show is affected minimally by this sad turn of events.
