  • The Gossip Girl season 3 DVD hasn’t been officially announced yet and there isn’t a release date but you can check out the cover art and pre-order it from Amazon.

  • Shawn Christian (Wayne, Beverly Hills 90210) spoke a little bit about the show in an interview with We Love Soaps. Never knew he was asked to stick around in season 1o! He also discusses being on Summerland, which starred Lori Loughlin (Debbie, 90210), and working with Roger Howarth (Professor Hetson, Dawson’s Creek).
  • Kellan Lutz (George, 90210) is in talks to star in the action flick Deathgames.

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, 90210, Gossip Girl and More

15 04 2010
  • BuzzSugar has a photogallery called The History of One Tree Hill: Top 10 Highlights. Can’t say I agree with all their picks and at least one caption isn’t quite accurate but it was still fun to look at.
  • Everly, the band featuring Bethany Joy Galeotti  (Haley, One Tree Hill), tweeted that they will be doing a Q & A session with fans and are accepting questions via Facebook. For a little bit more on the band, come back Sunday. =)
  • WSMV, a news station in Nashville, has a video interview with Jana Kramer (Alex, One Tree Hill), including an acoustic performance.
  • Gossip Cop busted a Perez Hilton story claiming Rumer Willis (Gia, 90210) is getting married soon. She’s not even engaged!
  • Total viewers for 90210 and Gossip Girl (each) have dropped more than 20 percent since last season.
  • PEOPLE.com is asking whether Chuck (Ed Westwick, Gossip Girl) and Blair (Leighton Meester, Gossip Girl) are meant to be together. The CW promo they have alongside it, essentially a movie-like trailer for the Chair love story, is chilling. Warning: there are snippets of upcoming scenes!
  • Ausiello has a very brief interview with Kristen Bell (Gossip Girl, Gossip Girl).
  • Josh Schwartz (creator, Gossip Girl; The O.C.) wrote a piece for EW.com about his experiences going to Coachella, including one time he attended with some (unnamed) O.C. cast members.
  • The Los Angeles Times has an interview with Melinda Clarke (Julie, The O.C.). There’s some O.C. talk, including some subtle (but totally valid, IMO) criticism of Schwartz and praise for Kevin Williamson (creator, Dawson’s Creek), with whom she worked with on The Vampire Diaries.

  • Interview Magazine has an, um, interview with Kellan Lutz (George, 90210).
  • Gossip Cop busted a story from Star claiming Candy Spelling (wife of Aaron, mother to Tori and Randy) offered Tori Spelling (Donna, Beverly Hills 90210) $10 million to divorce her husband, Dean McDermott. As you might expect, it’s not true.

  • MTV has a short and somewhat spoilish video interview with Michelle Trachtenberg (Georgina, Gossip Girl).

  • USA Today has a Save Our Shows survey, where you can pick “keep,” “drop,” or “don’t care” for shows that are on the bubble, including OTH and LUX.
  • Olivia Wilde (Alex, The O.C.) has been cast in the movie Butter.

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, 90210 and More

12 04 2010
  • One Tree Hill came in second in Kristin’s Save One Show campaign. Chuck, which is executive produced by Josh Schwartz (executive producer, Gossip Girl; The O.C.) won.
  • Even if you didn’t participate in the postcard campaign for One Tree Hill, you can still print out one of the postcards as a keepsake.
  • The first video featuring the winners of The CW’s One Tree Hill contest has been released. It’s pretty cute. I am ridiculously jealous.
  • The new One Tree Hill Connection podcast has an interview with Joe Davola (executive producer, One Tree Hill).
  • Cari Moskow (Patty, One Tree Hill) joined Twitter today after being re-inspired by our interview.
  • Chace Crawford (Nate, Gossip Girl) will no longer be starring in Footloose.
  • The 33 TV, a news station in Dallas, has a video interview with Crawford and his sister Candice.
  • CNN is taking fan questions for Crawford for their Connector Of The Day feature. Can you spot the error in what they wrote?
  • PEOPLE.com and the New York Post have interviews with Zuzanna Szadkowski (Dorota, Gossip Girl).
  • MTV has a short interview with Eric Daman (costume designer, Gossip Girl).
  • I don’t post these every week but I figured I’d share this time: 90210 had the most DVR growth, percentage wise, in the 18-49 demographic than any other network show during the week of March 22. Gossip Girl ranked fourth. (It’s noteworthy, for One Tree Hill renewal/cancellation purposes, that Melrose Place ranked second.) The CW sent out a press release with all the numbers.
  • Laura Leighton (Sophie, Beverly Hills 90210) will return to Melrose Place tomorrow night for the season finale.
  • Time Out New York Kids has an interview with Jennie Garth (Kelly, Beverly Hills 90210), which includes a (totally legitimate but late, IMO) dig at 90210.
  • The Bannen Way, which features Vanessa Marcil (Gina, Beverly Hills 90210) and Autumn Reeser (Taylor, The O.C.), won several awards at The Streamys.
  • An article on Life Unexpected, which stars Kerr Smith (Jack, Dawson’s Creek), has nice references to both DC and Beverly Hills 90210.
  • BlackBook has an interview with Smith, with a little bit of DC talk and a Gossip Girl mention.
  • Busy Philipps (Audrey, Dawson’s Creek) spoke a little about James Van Der Beek (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek) to E! Online.

News Roundup: Gossip Girl, 90210, One Tree Hill and More

8 04 2010
  • In case you missed it earlier, Ed Westwick (Chuck, Gossip Girl) and Jessica Szohr (Vanessa, Gossip Girl) have broken up.
  • A report also came out today that Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl) and Sebastian Stan (Carter, Gossip Girl) have split but I haven’t been able to confirm that yet.
  • Date Night, featuring Meester, opens in theaters tomorrow.
  • Fancast has an interview with Zuzanna Szadkowski (Dorota, Gossip Girl).
  • BuddyTV has an interesting post on The Cost of Dressing Like A Gossip Girl.
  • Has anyone heard of the animated series Beverly Hills Teens? It aired in the late 1980s. I just stumbled across it today.
  • SoapNet has a poll asking “Which “Beverly Hills 90210″ star is due for a return to TV?”
  • Shawn Christian (Wayne, Beverly Hills 90210) is SoapNet’s Weekly Crush.
  • SoapNet is having a mothers-themed marathon of Beverly Hills 90210 and One Tree Hill on Mother’s Day, May 9. It will air during the normal Sunday teen drama schedule for those shows. I’ll post a reminder that morning.
  • Wakey!Wakey!, featuring Mike Grubbs (Grubbs, One Tree Hill), will have a huge concert at the Bowery Ballroom in New York on May 20 (which is coincidentally the same date as The CW upfront). Also check out another newly-released video from the band.
  • iF Magazine has an interview with Joshua Jackson (Pacey, Dawson’s Creek).
  • Michelle Williams (Jen, Dawson’s Creek) is in talks to star in The Emperor’s Children.

News Roundup: 90210, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and More

7 04 2010
  • Be sure to check out The CW’s site for all the new video content this week.
  • Last night’s 90210 (1.3 million viewers) had another drop in the ratings compared to last week, hitting a new season- and series-low. Note, though, that coverage was only in 92 percent of the marketplace, not the usual 95. (I know the Chicagoland area, for instance, had the show preempted for sports.)
  • E! Online has 90210 spoilers.
  • The Stir has an interview with Jessica Lowndes (Adrianna, 90210).
  • I love working for Gossip Cop. I love it even more when it involves taking down Perez Hilton for a Beverly Hills 90210-related post.
  • Gossip Cop also busted another false Life & Style story today (though I wasn’t involved in this one; I did write the above PH one) about the marriage between Tori Spelling (Donna, Beverly Hills 90210) and Dean McDermott.
  • Brian Austin Green (David, Beverly Hills 90210) and girlfriend Megan Fox made a Funny or Die video in support of public education.
  • Tiffani Amber Thiessen (Valerie, Beverly Hills 90210) participated in a Paley Center panel last night in support of her show, White Collar.
  • SoapNet now has a Beverly Hills 90210 I.Q. quiz to go along with the ones for The O.C. and One Tree Hill. I got a 100 percent and was told “AWESOME! Is your last name Walsh? You’re a Beverly Hills, 90210 expert, a fact sure to open doors and earn you friends wherever you go.” It was much easier than the other quizzes, IMO, but unfortunately, there were two inaccurate questions (though you can still figure out the answers) and one answer listed incorrectly on the results page.
  • Shenae Grimes (Annie, 90210) is on the cover of Dirrty Glam magazine. Kristen Bell (Gossip Girl, Gossip Girl) was on the last issue.
  • Bell was on The Late Late Show last night.
  • Korbi has an interview with Zuzanna Szadkowski (Dorota, Gossip Girl). Have you read my interview with her?
  • Your Love Is A Drug by Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl) will be featured in next week’s episode of Gossip Girl.
  • TeenVogue.com has the video premiere of Light Outside by Wakey!Wakey!, which features Mike Grubbs (Grubbs, One Tree Hill).
  • Sixty percent of voters in Zap2it’s “kill” or “keep” poll want to keep One Tree Hill.
  • The final round of Save One Show has started and One Tree Hill, as well as Life Unexpected starring Kerr Smith (Jack, Dawson’s Creek), are still in the running. Also a contender is Chuck, which is executive produced by Josh Schwartz (executive producer, Gossip Girl; The O.C.). The post includes written messages from both Schwartz and Mark Schwahn (creator, One Tree Hill), as well as the producers of the other shows, encouraging their fans to vote.
  • James Van Der Beek (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek) tweeted a picture of the call sheet he found for the original DC pilot.

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, 90210, Dawson’s Creek and The O.C.

4 04 2010
  • 411mania.com has an interview with Bryan Greenberg (Jake, One Tree Hill).
  • EW.com has an interview with Brett Claywell (Tim, One Tree Hill) and the One Life to Live debacle.
  • Shannen Doherty (Brenda, Beverly Hills 90210) voices the title characters in the new FEARnet.com animated series Mari-Kari, which premieres in June.
  • Jennie Garth (Kelly, Beverly Hills 90210) is supporting PETA’s protest of companies that support Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey.
  • Parade.com has an interview with Joshua Jackson (Pacey, Dawson’s Creek). A few interesting things in there.
  • I have the vague feeling I posted this before but a stronger feeling that I have it. At any rate, I (potentially re-)stumbled across this very sweet short film starring Tate Donovan (Jimmy, The O.C.).

31 03 2010
  • My 90210 reaction post will be delayed due to a screw up with my DVR. My apologies.
  • Last night’s 90210 (1.5 million viewers rounded up) dropped a tiny bit in the ratings compared to last week, hitting a new season- and series-low. If you recall, last week also rounded to 1.5, but the unrounded number this time is even lower (1.480 versus 1.508).
  • EW.com has an interview with Shannen Doherty (Brenda, Beverly Hills 90210) about Dancing With The Stars.
  • Doherty apparently declined to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, which all other eliminated contestants have done in the past, but she did appear on Good Morning America this morning.
  • My colleagues at Gossip Cop had the task of busting another false Doherty rumor.
  • Tiffani Amber Thiessen (Valerie, Beverly Hills 90210) had a baby shower hosted by Naomi Lowde, wife of Jason Priestley (Brandon, Beverly Hills 90210).
  • Thiessen is on the cover of the May issue of Pregnancy magazine.
  • CelebrityBabyScoop.com has an interview with Jennie Garth (Kelly, Beverly Hills 90210).
  • PEOPLE.com has a photo of Jessica Szohr (Vanessa, Gossip Girl) in the Op campaign. There’s more on the Op site, including ones featuring Trevor Donovan (Teddy, 90210).
  • One Tree Hill is one of the top 5 shows getting the most votes so far in Kristin’s Save One Show campaign.
  • Twenty-seven percent of “media buyers” surveyed believe One Tree Hill is the veteran show most at-risk for cancellation.
  • Everly, featuring Bethany Joy Galeotti (Haley, One Tree Hill), and Enation, who have been seen and heard on One Tree Hill (and includes Galeotti’s hubby Michael!), have booked a joint concert date for late August in South Dakota. Let’s hope more are coming!
  • SoapNet has an O.C. I.Q. quiz. Unlike the One Tree Hill one, I only got a 7o percent this time! I was told: “You know your OC well enough to hang with the gang at Newport Union, but if you want to crack Harbor High’s inner circle, you might need to brush up.” Ouch.
  • JustJared has–dare I say it–a pretty good interview with Benjamin McKenzie (Ryan, The O.C.).
  • PEOPLE.com has details on the divorce settlement between James Van Der Beek (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek) and his soon-to-be ex-wife.
