Spoiler: Ask Ausiello

1 04 2010

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Question: It’s time for some 90210 scoop. Make it something good. —Sarah
Ausiello:
Jen returns with big news that may or may not involve a valuable (and iconic) piece of real estate.

Question: Some scoop please on the upcoming Gossip Girl indecent proposal storyline. You called it first, now please give us more. Pretty please! —Jordan
Ausiello:
The promo for next week’s episode gives away pretty much everything… except the big twist.

Question: Okay, I’ll bite: What happens immediately after the scene with Chuck at the top of the Empire State Building in the Gossip Girl finale? —Larissa
Ausiello:
Something really bad and potentially irreparable.

Question: I have to have some One Tree Hill scoop — preferably on the season finale and the show’s renewal status. —Nick
Ausiello:
I have a very strong hunch The CW will give the show a 13-episode pickup, although we’ll probably have to wait until May for an official announcement. Don’t know too much about the finale, except that it ends with an outta-nowhere cliffhanger.

Question: Is Life Unexpected coming back for a second season? I fall deeper in love with it each week. —Jill
Ausiello:
If the ratings hold steady, I think we’re looking at a 13-episode thingamajig here as well. On the scoop front, Baze finally confesses his feelings for Cate in next Monday’s road trip-themed episode. Unfortunately, the person he comes clean to is Lux.

Just remember the so-called “indecent proposal” storyline was done on Beverly Hills 90210 in season 6, with Valerie, David and Ginger. I also mentioned this in February when Ausiello first hinted this storyline was coming up.

This is the clearest sign we’ve gotten yet about One Tree Hill–but don’t pop the champagne bottles yet (or bash in your TV, whatever your opinion).

Life Unexpected stars Kerr Smith (Jack, Dawson’s Creek).

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, 90210 and More

19 01 2010
  • I am not posting ratings for last night’s One Tree Hill until the final numbers are announced. I’ve been told they’re delayed due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
  • The CW sent out a press release–based on the early numbers, which they normally use–saying Life Unexpected’s total viewers was the most for the 9pm timeslot in more than a year. That means it outperformed One Tree Hill last year (from 1/12/09 til the end of the season) and Gossip Girl all of this season.
  • Be sure to check out The CW’s site for all the new One Tree Hill video content this week.
  • Examiner.com has an article on Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill) and Austin Nichols (Julian, One Tree Hill)–who are totally together, it seems–attending the The Art of Elysium’s annual gala.
  • The new One Tree Hill Connection podcast features an interview with Lindsey McKeon (Taylor, One Tree Hill). Have you read my interview with her?
  • Ausiello is reporting Billy Baldwin has been cast as father to Serena (Blake Lively, Gossip Girl) and Eric (Connor Paolo, Gossip Girl), ex-husband to Lily (Kelly Rutherford, Gossip Girl). Matt Barr (Ian “Psycho Derek” Banks, One Tree Hill) played the young version of Keith in the 80s flashback episode in season 2. Some are saying Keith isn’t S and E’s father and this E! Online article says its William van der Woodsen but I am just confused by it all.
  • I typically don’t link to sites like this but I was just so stunned by this claim that I can’t ignore it. Radar Online is “exclusively” reporting that Rob Estes (Harry, 90210) has quit the show. Some of their facts are clearly wrong: they say “The next season is set to air in the close future – a date has yet to be released by CW as they gear up to debut their new line-up.” The next season–if there is a next season–wouldn’t typically air til the fall and wouldn’t even be announced for a while longer. I am hoping a mainstream, credible site will quickly confirm or deny their report.
  • The same Radar article also has details on Jennie Garth (Kelly, Beverly Hills 90210) and her exit from the show. These seem to be legit as the quotes are coming from her manager, rather than anonymous sources.
  • Garth is starring in a new webseries, called Garden Party. Garth previously appeared in the webseries The Broadroom.
  • Smokin’ Aces 2, starring Autumn Reeser (Taylor, The O.C.), is out on DVD today. Reeser and I discussed the film in our interview and she discusses it in this new one as well. Reeser also mentions her appearance years ago on Star Trek, which starred Jeri Ryan (Charlotte, The O.C.)
  • TVGuide.com has more on Olivia Wilde (Alex, The O.C.) auctioning her Golden Globes dress for charity.
  • Emmanuelle Chriqui, who played Alex’s ex in two episodes of The O.C. was named the Most Desirable Woman of 2010.

18 12 2009

  • Ausiello has spoilish Joe Manganiello (Owen, One Tree Hill) news. You can probably guess–especially if you read my interview with him this summer.
  • Bethany Joy Galeotti (Haley, One Tree Hill) recorded a message for fans.

  • Eric Daman, Gossip Girl’s costume director, has released a book.
  • This is the first time I’ve seen a picture of Kathleen Robertson (Clare, Beverly Hills 90210) at an event in a looooong time. There’s also a picture of Julie Bowen (Aunt Gwen, Dawson’s Creek).
  • The Washington Post has an interesting article on The Beautiful Life, starring Mischa Barton (Marissa, The O.C.), and its second life on YouTube.

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, 90210 and More

3 11 2009
  • Be sure to check out The CW’s site for all the new video content this week.
  • Last night’s One Tree Hill (2.3 million viewers) and Gossip Girl (2.0 million viewers rounded up) each had a decent drop in the ratings compared to last week.  Gossip Girl technically didn’t even cross 2 million (again, I rounded up), tying for a season-low.
  • I will be interviewing Lee Norris (Mouth, One Tree Hill) later this week.  Since I’ve already interviewed him, I figured this time I would use reader questions.  Please comment with your question by Thursday Friday morning.  I cannot promise it will be asked but I’ll do my best!
  • The new One Tree Hill Connection podcast features an interview with OTH writer Terrence Coli.
  • I love this video interview with Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill), where she adamantly states she isn’t on Twitter.  As you’ve seen in my Twitter Directory, there are tons of fake Sophias out there.  Frustrating!
  • Hilarie Burton (Peyton, One Tree Hill) recorded a message on SoGoPro.
  • If you haven’t seen Brett Claywell (Tim, One Tree Hill) on One Life to Live, Perez Hilton actually posted a clip.
  • In a Gossip Girl recap by the L.A. Times, both Andrea (Gabrielle Carteris, Beverly Hills 90210) and Joey (Katie Holmes, Dawson’s Creek) are compared to Vanessa (Jessica Szhor, Gossip Girl).
  • If you missed the short clip of the video for “Somebody to Love” by Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl), which aired during GG last night, E! Online posted it.
  • The Parents Television Council has sent a letter urging CW affiliates not to air next week’s episode, which will feature the reported threesome.  Seems a little preemptive (no pun intended) to me.  I can’t imagine the episode being vulgar enough to warrant this.  I imagine, like the gay kiss, it will be such a nothing thing and is really more about getting publicity and media attention (in which case, it worked).  But I guess we’ll have to wait and see!
  • You can get 10% off the cost of tickets for the Gossip Girl tour in New York City when you use the promo code TEENDRAMA.
  • TV Guide Magazine has a spoiler-filled interview with Jessica Stroup (Silver, 90210) about what happens with the Jackie (Ann Gillespie) storyline.  We all know how I feel about this so I figured I’d spare you guys the rant.
  • Ausiello has a lot more spoiler-filled details on the Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes, 90210) / Gia (Rumer Willis, 90210) storyline.
  • Kellan Lutz (George, 90210) and Nikki Reed (Sadie, The O.C.) are also featured in the Nov. issue of Nylon.
  • The O.C. made BlackBook’s list of Top 10 Single-Letter & Acronymical TV Shows.
  • Adam Brody (Seth, The O.C.) will star alongside Holmes in The Romantics.  Holmes will also produce.
  • The A.V. Club has a great interview with Chris Pratt (Che, The O.C.)
