- SoapNet has been airing a great promo featuring Beverly Hills 90210, One Tree Hill and The O.C., and I finally found it online!

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, The O.C. and More
24 02 2010- E! Online spoke with CW head honcho Dawn Ostroff about the chances of Life Unexpected and Melrose Place being renewed. Unfortunately, One Tree Hill wasn’t discussed–or, if it was, it wasn’t include in the article.
- WECT and Star News report a CBS pilot will be filmed at Screen Gems Studios this spring, the same place that houses the One Tree Hill sets. One Tree Hill should be finished filming for the season by then but I’m not sure they’d be affected anyway. (I don’t know how big Screen Gems is but it’s noteworthy that only one major series has filmed there at a time–first Dawson’s Creek and then One Tree Hill.) Also keep in mind that where a pilot films isn’t necessarily where the series will film, if it is indeed ordered as a series.
- WECT also has an article on Wilmington’s “film industry” being stable “with or without One Tree Hill.”
- Deadline Hollywood and The Hollywood Reporter both say Chace Crawford (Nate, Gossip Girl) and Michael Cassidy (Zach, The O.C.) are in the running to play Captain American. I’ve seen rumors recently that Chad Michael Murray (Lucas, One Tree Hill) and Rob Buckley (Clay, One Tree Hill) were also being considered but I didn’t post them because they were just that–rumors, and from sites whose credibility I couldn’t vouch for. These two sites, however, I frequent regularly and are well-respected in the entertainment news industry.
- Chuck/Blair (Gossip Girl), Nate/Blair (Gossip Girl) and Ryan/Marissa (The O.C.) are the only teen drama couples remaining in E! Online’s TV’s Top Couples tournament. (David/Donna and Dylan/Brenda, both of Beverly Hills 90210, were eliminated.)
- Josh Schwartz (creator/executive producer, Gossip Girl; The O.C.) is reportedly working on a remake of the film Endless Love.
- There is an article on Benjamin McKenzie (Ryan, The O.C.) in the new issue of TV Guide Magazine.
- Dawson’s Creek is included in TVGuide.com’s TV’s Biggest Blunders photogallery for losing sexual “tension a-plenty when its lead characters hooked up.”

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl and Dawson’s Creek
21 02 2010- Star News has a few different features on some of the One Tree Hill cast participating in the Wilmington police fundraiser yesterday.
- Joe Manganiello (Owen, One Tree Hill) has been cast in the CBS pilot, Livin’ On A Prayer.
- Kate Voegele (Mia, One Tree Hill) sang the National Anthem at a Nascar event yesterday.
- Amanda Setton (Penelope, Gossip Girl) is reportedly leaving One Life to Live.
- Rachael Leigh Cook (Devon, Dawson’s Creek) has been cast in the FOX pilot, Nirvana.

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, 90210, Gossip Girl and More
17 02 2010- The CW has ordered another pilot, in addition to the five shows previously announced.
- Monday’s One Tree Hill (1.9 million rounded up) dropped a decent amount in the ratings compared to last week. This is a season- and (I believe) series-low.
- Variety says One Tree Hill has a “better-than-50/50 shot at returning.”
- InStyle has a short article on Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill) at New York Fashion Week.
- Due to scheduling issues, Jana Kramer (Alex, One Tree Hill) and Robert Buckley (Clay, One Tree Hill) will no longer be participating in the Wilmington police fundraiser this weekend. Instead, James Lafferty (Nathan, One Tree Hill) and Mitch Ryan (Alexander, One Tree Hill) will and possibly others.
- Blood Done Sign My Name, a movie Lee Norris (Mouth, One Tree Hill) first told me about in August, starring him, Cullen Moss (Junk, One Tree Hill), Michael May (Chuck, One Tree Hill) and Susan Walters (Principal Rimkus), opens in theaters Friday. Star News has a review of the film.
- The CW sent out a YouTube interview with 90210’s costume designer, Frank Helmer.
- The contenders for the TV’s Top Couples tournament have officially been announced. They include: David/Donna (Beverly Hills 90210), Dylan/Brenda (Beverly Hills 90210), Chuck/Blair (Gossip Girl),Nate/Blair (Gossip Girl) and Ryan/Marissa (The O.C.).
- Alexandra Patsavas (music supervisor, Gossip Girl & The O.C.) is among BuddyTV’s picks to replace Simon Cowell on American Idol.
- I’ve never listened to This American Life before but I stumbled across an edition that had a segment about The O.C. that I really enjoyed. It starts around the 30-minute mark.
- Autumn Reeser (Taylor, The O.C.), who appeared on tonight’s episode of Human Target, has been cast in No Ordinary Family, which is being executive produced by Greg Berlanti (writer-producer, Dawson’s Creek).
- LOLing at this Blair Waldorf comparison to Suri Cruise, especially since Suri is the daughter of Katie Holmes (Joey, Dawson’s Creek).
- Holmes is included in an E! Online photogallery of stars at 18 years old.

16 02 2010- Articles on The CW’s renewals and the remaining shows: E! Online, EW.com, NYTimes.com, Star News, TVByTheNumbers.com (and a second one).
- Be sure to check out The CW’s site for all the new video content this week.
- Several teen drama stars are featured in an MTV.com blog post on New York Fashion Week. Examiner.com’s article focuses on Shantel VanSanten (Quinn, One Tree Hill) but shows a picture of her at NYFW with other teen drama stars.
- The final ratings for last night’s One Tree Hill haven’t been released yet due to the holiday yesterday. I rather wait for those than post numbers that are almost guaranteed to change.
- A local Wilmington news station has a piece on the effect on the town (city?) if One Tree Hill ends this season.
- Cinema Blend has an interview with Bryan Greenberg (Jake, One Tree Hill).
- There will be a Gossip Girl-inspired clothing line launched in the UK in April. A U.S.-based GG clothing line launched in September.
- Matthew Settle (Rufus, Gossip Girl) has reportedly separated from his wife.
- Jennie Garth (Kelly, Beverly Hills 90210) is in the newest 90210 trailer. Like I’ve said, I believe she’s in at least one more episode.
- Tori Spelling (Donna, Beverly Hills 90210) has written a children’s book, which will be released in September. Her third memoir, uncharted terriTORI, will be published in June.
- Turns out Daniel Cosgrove (Matt, Beverly Hills 90210) won’t be appearing on Brothers & Sisters after all.
- McG (executive producer, The O.C.) is working on a screen adaptation of Spring Awakening. I think I knew about this via rumors but this may be the first time I’m seeing it confirmed with him talking about it. If you recall, SA (which I love and saw twice, BTW) was sort of adapted for use on 90210 last season.

4 02 2010- Star News has an article on Robert Buckley (Clay, One Tree Hill) participating in a charity event with Aerpostale.
- Kristin says Michelle Trachtenberg (Georgina, Gossip Girl) will be in GG’s season finale. The quotes in the article are from a spoiler chat from January, though.
- According to the same article, Connor Paolo (Eric, Gossip Girl) will appear on an episode of Mercy, which also stars Trachtenberg and now James Van Der Beek (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek).
- The February 8 issue of PEOPLE has a short interview with Kerr Smith (Jack, Dawson’s Creek). When asked about his favorite DC memory, he says: “In the summer we as a cast would go to Masonboro Island, [N.C.]. We’d get out the grill and go Jet Skiing and swimming. It was the most fun I ever had in my life.” If you recall, John Wesley Shipp (Mitch, Dawson’s Creek) made a similar comment in my interview with him.
- The headline alone of this article on Fringe, which stars Joshua Jackson (Pacey, Dawson’s Creek), makes it worth posting.
- McG (executive producer, The O.C.) may direct the romantic comedy This Means War.

News Roundup: Gossip Girl, 90210, One Tree Hill and Dawson’s Creek
9 01 2010- CNN has an interesting article on Gossip Girls’ effect on the Empire Hotel, which is used by the show.
- Tristan Wilds (Dixon, 90210) got a formspring.me account so fans could ask him questions.
- Last week’s issue of Soap Opera Digest (dated January 12) have a feature examining blonde vs. brunette scenarios on daytime and primetime, including 3 teen dramas. 1. Both Kelly vs. Brenda and Kelly vs. Valerie (Beverly Hills 90210), with points awarded to Kelly in both instances. 2. Dawson vs. Pacey (Dawson’s Creek) with a “win” for Pacey. It inaccurately says Joey and Pacey broke up after she lost her virginity to him. They also could’ve done Jen vs. Joey. 3. Peyton vs. Brooke (One Tree Hill), with a point for Peyton and a half-point for Brooke being mature about it. This last one, especially, was incredibly over-simplified, bordering on misleading and inaccurate. There were great pictures for all.
- While thinking about the Beverly Hills 90210 anniversaries this year brings, I found this Star News article from two years ago that, in honor of Dawson’s Creek’s 10-year anniversary, revisits interacting factoids about the show.
- This article on Life Unexpected suggests Kerr Smith (Jack, Dawson’s Creek) will be there for the long-haul, despite the vibe I got after watching the first three episodes.

31 12 2009- Noticed that the finalized artwork for the Beverly Hills Season 9 DVD is significantly different from the preliminary art, and both are significantly different from the original photo. First the original photo was altered to photoshop in Luke Perry (Dylan). Then they decided to also add in Vanessa Marcil (Gina) and cut out Vincent Young (Noah). This makes the second season in a row with Young missing from the cover art, even though he was a regular the entire season, unlike Perry, Marcil and even Jason Priestley (Brandon) and Tiffani Amber Thiessen (Valerie). Missing in all three photos, however, is Daniel Cosgrove (Matt) who was also a regular that season, albeit not from the beginning (though he is in one of the faded background images). Expect me to still be griping about this when the set is released on February 2nd.
- ABC News has an interview with Candy Spelling (wife of Aaron, mother of Tori; Beverly Hills 90210).
- Digital Spy has an interview with Matt Lanter (Liam, 90210). Some of it is outdated for us, since the show is just premiering in the country where the site is based. Most interesting is that he says he’s pretty sure there’s going to be a season 3–and then is bold enough to say the show could last “four or five years.”
- They also have an interview with Jessica Lowndes (Adrianna, 90210), which also covers things we’ve already seen but also has spoilers.
- MTV made New Year’s resolutions for Ryan (Ryan Eggold, 90210), Dan (Paul Johansson, One Tree Hill) and Jenny (Taylor Momsen, Gossip Girl). Zap2it and The Wrap have good resolutions for The CW.
- Star News has a brief article on Brett Claywell (Tim, One Tree Hill) and the amazing work he’s been doing on One Life to Live. It’s truly remarkable.
- Blair (Leighton Meester, Gossip Girl) is still in the running in the Girl on Top tournament.
- You can vote for Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl) and Chace Crawford (Nate, Gossip Girl) as the stars you would kiss on New Year’s Eve.
- The new season of The Secret Life of the American Teenager, starring Shailene Woodley (Kaitlin, The O.C.), premieres Monday on ABC Family.

26 12 2009- Matt Lanter (Liam, 90210) and Michael Steger (Navid, 90210) are included in a L.A. Times photogallery of celebrity Christmas wishes.
- According to the new issue of Soap Opera Weekly, Vanessa Marcil (Gina, Beverly Hills 90210) is once again “in talks” with General Hospital. I haven’t read the article. (You’ll notice Zack Conroy is also on the cover. He appeared on one episode of Gossip Girl as Ben, the guy Blair meets at the airplane when Chuck stands her up in the season 1 finale).
- Star News has an article on One Tree Hill’s success this year, noting how the 7th season means it surpassed Dawson’s Creek as Wilmington’s longest running show. It also made OTH the second longest running teen drama.
- Jana Kramer (Alex, One Tree Hill) tweeted that she’s engaged. Her fiance, Johnathon Schaech tweeted it as well. Brett Claywell (Tim, One Tree Hill) posted well wishes to them on Facebook.
- The Best Chrismukkah Ever from The O.C. ranked 16 on EW.com’s list of Classic Holiday TV Episodes.
